“November” wins best cinematography award at Tribeca film festival

Mart Taniel won Best Cinematography in an International Narrative Feature Film at the Tribeca Film Festival for Rainer Sarnet’s “November,” which competed in the festival’s International Narrative Competition.

According to the jury, they were particularly impressed by the high level of cinematography they had just seen in films with very different styles and demands, however “November” was deemed “particularly audacious” and demonstrated “supreme command of its visual language.”

The award was presented on behalf of the jury by Alessandro Nivola and Willem Dafoe.

Oscilloscope Laboratories also purchased the North American rights to “November” ahead of the film festival, which mean that the screen adaptation of Estonian novelist Andrus Kivirähk’s “Rehepapp” will reach American movie theaters in the beginning of 2018.
